♥ Be My Old-fashioned Valentine! ♥ Wonderful and very rare , early composition, 17" tall, Monica Doll from Hollywood , (Monica Doll Studios) owned and designed by Mrs. Hansi Share, circa 1942 . This beautiful lady is named either: "Veronica", "Jean" or "Rosalind", "Eleanor" and "Dorothy" according to 1940s company brochure . (Three later, 1949-51, dolls were made in hard plastic with sleep eyes and named: "Elizabeth", "Marion" and "Linda"). This pretty child has gorgeous detailed, blue painted eyes with high-lites, eye corner dots, beautiful cheek coloring, sweet closed mouth, painted eyebrows that match her, unusually rooted, thick dark brown, human hair, which is one of the distinguishing marks of these rare dolls. She has a lovely, slender body with long limbs, individual fingers with rose painted fingernails and flat feet and wears what appears to be her original clothing (or very well made relacement). Her blue eyes are accentuated by her pretty cotton, fitted blue flower-printed dress with wide blue collar and sleeve trim . She wears an adorable, embroidered blue flower , two-piece set of pink bra and matching panties and eyelet petticoat, nylon socks with blue trim and old leatherette shoes with blue ribbon ties . She has a slender waist and joints at her shoulders and hips with a swivel head. These dolls were never marked read more
