PayPal is the only method of payment accepted This auction is for an original WW2 British Army issue Jungle Machete Knife Signed Blade & Scabbard This style of knife was originally manufactured and supplied to British forces in the theatre of WW2 and was commonly called a "Bolo Machete". They were issued to British infantrymen & comandos as part of their personal equipment. 50.5 cm ( 19.88 inch ) long overall (blade & handle) with a 37 cm ( 14.57 inch ) single edged long blade marked with the maker’s details: (Boar's Head Hallmark) ENDURE JOS H BEAL & SONS CAST-STEEL SHEFFIELD The handle is engraved with the Broad Arrow of the War Office: /|/ II Comes in the original leather scabbard with the maker’s details, date and the Broad Arrow stamped on the rear of the belt loop: J.B. BROOKS & Co. Ltd 1942 /|/ 103 The British War Office mark of the broad arrow was applied to primarily military items in order to indicate something is the property of the king. The makers, Joseph Beal & Sons , were a small Sheffield cutler firm, who made blades adapted for colonial markets around the world. Their blades have been found on a Native American sword, a Burmese knife and an Indonesian dagger. The leather scabbard measures 51.5 cm ( 20.28 inches ) long. Condition:
