used WWII US MILITARY BAYONET AND SCABBARD This is a neat old bayonet and scabbard from a local estate. I am not an expert, but I am told that this would have been from one of the M1 Garand rifles in WWII. I have included lots of pictures, so please verify this for yourself. The bayonet itself is about 14 1/2 inches long, The blade is a little short of 10 inches. The blade is marked only on one side. It is stamped "AFH" above the "U" and "S" separated by a flaming bomb. "1942" is stamped below. The bayonet shows some rust. I have not tried to clean it up or polish it in any way. I oiled it lightly to discourage further rust. The handle grips are intact and the release button for the scabbard still works. The scabbard is about 11 1/2 inches long (including the little locking latches for the bayonet). It is marked with flaming bomb with "U.S." inside of it. Overall, this is a really nice old set. With some clean up and TLC, I am sure it will be fantastic. Don't miss out. Bid now! Visit my eBay store "Vintage and Variations" using links above or below to shop by category and custom search all my great stuff. Combine more than one winning bid or purchase to save on shipping! TIP: Don't Get Outbid At The Last Moment or Miss Your Opportunity to Bid: A lot of bidders are disappointed at losing in the last second. They've been "sniped" by other bidders. You can prevent this by entering your Maximum Bid (highest amount you're willing to pay) when you place your bid. Then, if someone places a higher bid, yours rises just enough to cover theirs (up to your maximum). This gets you the best possible price, and reduces the odds of being sniped. It also prevents you from forgetting to bid at the last moment. I get emails all the time saying "I got distracted and did not get to bid. Do you have any more??" I almost never do! The Fine Print. Please read! All payments, including e-checks must clear before shipment. I normally ship at three times per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I always ship by USPS. Combining shipping on items to save money is almost always possible, but some very heavy, oddly shaped or bulky items or items of different mail classes cannot be combined. Insurance is provided by U-Pic. If an insurance claim for damage is necessary, you must retain the shipping box and all packing materials.
