Up for auction is a bulk lot of thirty-five (35) issues of the London Jesuit journal THE MONTH , published by Longmans, Green & Co. Issues range in date from 1943 to 1959, with most of them from the late 1950s.Nearly all of these issues were edited by Philip Caraman. Prominent British Catholic writers such as Evelyn Waugh and Graham Greene wrote pieces for the journal during this period, and this lot include Waugh's review of Greene's The End of the Affair ; a piece by Greene on "The Paradox of Pope Pius XII,"; and more. Also a piece by Thomas Merton on "Elected Silence."All in Very Good condition.
