For auction is an original 1943 WW2 German K98 BAYONET with MATCHING NUMBERS . This piece would complete your historic rifle and/or collection perfectly. Blade Marked cof 43 . It was made by Carl Eickhorn Waffenfabrik in Solingen, Germany in 1943 . "cof" was the war-time code used by this manufacturer. Marked with serial number 7662 s . Marked with two Waffenampts (factory proof marks). T are two Eagle and WaA519 stampings on the rear of the pommel. The grips are wood. The signature late-war rough machining marks are present. The blade has not been sharpened. T is a large amount of original finish left on the blade and handle. Finish is missing on the blade from scrapes to both sides. This was not a sharpening attempt as you can see in the last picture. T are scratches in the wood grip half on the cof 43 side. Looks like someone had a screw driver in both screws that slipped out at some point. T is blood pitting and corrosion on the tip. T is heavy surface corrosion on the handle metal.Scabbard Marked with the same markings: cof 43 and 7662 s . The spring screw is intact. The finial or ball end is stamped with a Waffenampt Eagle and WaA519? stamping. This one has the late-war phosphate finish. The blade slides all the way in and back out properly. The signature late-war sloppy brazing job on the frog stud is present. T are a couple of small dents, some pitting, and heavy surface corrosion.Don't miss your chance to own a late-war Matching Number German bayonet. Please let me know if you need any other pictures.
