For auction is an original 1943 WW2 German K98 BAYONET with MATCHING NUMBERS . This piece would complete your historic rifle and/or collection perfectly. Please check out the Nice Leather Frog that came with this bayonet. It is listed separately. Blade Marked cof 43 . It was made by Carl Eickhorn Waffenfabrik in Solingen, Germany in 1943 . Marked with serial number 0668 X . Marked with two Waffenampts (factory proof marks). T are two Eagles and WaA519 stampings on the rear of the pommel. The wood grips are in very nice shape with a few minor dents and dings. The blade has a lot of original blueing left on it. The blade has been sharpened but not butcd. It is very sharp. Please be careful. T is a lot of heavy corrosion on the handle metal, especially the flashguard. T is some pitting with a couple of bad spots on the crossguard and near the Waffenampts. T is some slight damage to the tip.Scabbard Marked with the same markings: cof 43 and 0668 X . The spring screw is still intact. The finial or ball end is stamped with a Waffenampt . T is hardly any original finish left on it. T is one large dent on the "cof" side. The blade goes in and out smoothly, however. T is a lot of corrosion and some pitting.Please let me know if you need any other pictures. Please bid on this item only if it is legal to purchase and possess it.
