is a Very Rare 1943 US WWII Oak Wooden Navy training aid of an artillery shell. Measures approx. 34 1/2" tall. Beautiful wood workmenship. They were used to teach crew how to assemble and arm each type ammo without having to handle the real HEAVY and possible dangerous item in class. In my opinion, it is in near mint condition, no chips or scratches in the wood. Nose plug has nice finish on it. Bottom base measures 4 1/4" and is Marked: HMC 1943, 3" Dummy Cartride, MK6 50 CAL. etc. The Navy used coding like that on their gun ammo. Also, comes with ORIGINAL Metal Navy canister, outside reads: 3"/50 Dummy Drill w/ Dummy Nose plug. etc.. and measures 37 1/4". Very Rare item especially with the canister.
