This auction is for a 1944 Hartzell wooden propeller. I don't think it has ever been used. The printing on the propeller says "AAF DESIGN NO. 44K13397, SR NO. 38362." The Design Number indicates that it was designed in 1944 for the military. The propeller is 86 inches long. The central hub area is 8 inches in diameter and 4 inches thick. It was made for the Fairchild UC-61,A airplane with a Warner Super Scarab 165 hp engine. If you would like to see what the airplane looks like, you can do a Google Image search for "Fairchild UC-61" w you will find a large number of photos and more information. Although the propeller is in very good condition for its age, it does have some scratches and scuff marks. Most of the scratches are on the back. A couple of the scuff marks are white paint that came from leaning against a wall or something of that nature. For some reason not all of the scratches are visible in the photographs. The propeller could be cleaned up a little, but I have left it alone because some collectors prefer their items to be left "as is." T are two small screw holes on the back of the hub. One is 1/4 inch deep and the other is 1/2 inch deep. Thank you for looking and good luck. Payment: I accept Paypal, money order or Cashier's check. I do not accept personal checks at this time. Payment must be arranged within three days
