1944 WWII NEW GUINEA AUSTRALIAN COIN SWEETHEART PENDANT This is a 1943 Australian coin that has been altered, carved & encased in clear lucite for a "Darling Sweetheart" dated 1944. This was a sweetheart gift specially made for a girlfriend or wife by a US WWII soldier while stationed in New Guinea. The pendant measures 1 1/2" W x 1 1/4" H & comes with a serviceable sterling silver chain. I do not know the silver content of the actual coin but there is a fair amount of tarnish that can easily be removed by myself or the new owner. The chain has been repaired near the clasp & is being included in order to keep the item in original condition. It is marked sterling on a ring near the clasp. Wonderful historical piece. Careful & fast shipping. Thanks~Tawny
