DATE: April 5, 1945 SUBJECT: Associated Press wartime photographer, Joe Rosenthal, looks over the scene at Iwo Jima beach SIZE: 7 x 9 (inches) DESCRIPTION: This is an original photo of Associated Press wartime photographer, Joe Rosenthal, looks over the scene at Iwo Jima beach. This is the spot Rosenthal took some of the most graphic pictures of the Pacific War. Rosenthal was also the photographer that photographed the famous group of Marines planting the U.S. flag atop Mt. Suribachi. The photo is in incredible condition with no scratches, tears, rips, or markings. The back of the photo is stamped by “Associated Press Photo Marine Corps New York” and is stamp dated “Apr 5 1945”. The photo also contains a full typed description on the back. A copy of the back of the photo is available upon request. My brother and I have started selling these photographs on EBay to help a family friend that recently passed away.
