Offered is an exceptional old Locomotive Operation Manual. This was specifically made and put out by the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railway Company (CRI & P RR). It is in excellent condition with some slight yellowing due to age. No writing in the book or rips or tears. This book is for the operation of the passenger locomotives No's 625 to 631 and 750 to 751. The first page shows it supersedes all previous Questions and Answers issued either by Electro-Motive (EMD) or the CRI&P. It is dated January 1945. This book has b&w photo's of #631 and #750 along with several both single page and fold out schematic's. The fold-outs are 15" in length. It has 14 additional b&w photo's of control valves, ect. The book is a total of 76 pages. The index contents shows General Data, Locomotive Operation, Cooling and Heating Systems, Fuel Oil Systems, Electrical Systems, Air Systems, Miscellaneous Equipment and Crankshaft Protector. This is followed by 28 pages of questions and answers. Nice old photo's showing the old "The Rocket" logo's on the engines. As shown the front of the manual has an old mailing label another on the inside back cover (Lee Lambert was an Engineer on the Rock Island RR).
