Up for auction is a very special base unit yearbook that belonged to a very special person. Stored away since 1945, this book is in Very Fine condition. Deep-blue, leather-like covers. T really are no flaws to describe , so I will go ahead and describe the contents. Title page: Wings Over America, United States Army Air Forces. General of the Army Henry H. Arnold, Commanding General, Army Air Forces (large photo of the General). Book has many, many photographs. Begins with History of the Charleston Army Air Field. Book has 144 pages total. Photographs of staff, special staff, administration and service, operations and training (these guys all look pretty happy), maintenance and supply, hospital, fighter detachment; many photos of offices, chapel, post exchange; many medical snapshots. Lots of planes, pictures of training schools, fighter detachment crews, Army Rescue Boat Station. Then...with the Wacs, athletics, talent shows. On and on, anybody and everybody. This is a great yearbook. My mother loved being a part of this unit and being stationed as a WAAC in Charleston. She shared her happy memories with me, now it's someone else's turn to enjoy this book. Shipping on this will be $4.00, shipped via USPS Media (book) rate. Insurance is optional but recommended.
