Up for auction is a gorgeous ladies ring with a pale amethyst cut synthetic stone set in 10K Gold. The bezel around the stone is a picture of Robert E. Lee on one side and the original Robert E. Lee High School, Staunton, VA on the other side. The ring is dated 1946. Inside are the initials of the owner S.L.S. and engraving stating H.L. Lang. This jewelry store opened in Staunton, VA in 1885. It moved to its current location in 1895. The ring is approximately size 6 and weighs 6.6 grams. The owner of the ring is pictured in the historical Staunton, Va book entitled Our Century Together , page 70 and also on the front cover. She was holding up a newspaper stating Japs Surrender (1945) which became famous and was also displayed with a life size picture of her in the Virginia Historial Museum in 1992 and is currently on the wall in City Hall in Staunton, Va. I will include a copy of this page of the Staunton book to the lucky winner of this auction. This ring is one of a kind and was owned by my mother - it is guaranteed authentic.
