This is a vintage, January 1946 dated, World War Two US NAVY BLUE WOOL OFFICER'S JACKET! This has the wide and narrow stripes on each sleeve with a star, so it's from a fleet officer who was a Lieutenant Junior Grade. This has a NAME to it! The tag inside the pocket listsa"VLADESSA, P." as the name! This has no holes or mothing that I can find. It shows some age, but it does not look as salty as other jackets I have seen. The tag in the pocket reads: "3 JACOB REED'S SONS, PHILADELPHIA, VLADESSA P, 24, 1/14/46, 25922, 294, 1." It's partly stamped and partly inked in by the tailor. Now, in case you are thinking about wearing this, let me give you some measurements. Well, the coat is probably a medium. I laid it out flat, all buttoned up, and it was 22 1/2 inches across at the widest point, at the armpits. It was 33 inches from the top of the collar to the bottom of the skirt. It is 18 1/2 inches across the top of the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. It is 24 inches from the shoulder seam down to the cuff. It is 20 inches at roughly the waist, right across the top of the pockets, so the waist or belly of the man wearing it can be absolutely no bigger than 40 inches, more likely 36 or 38. This seems to be truly a size 36 Reg or 38 regular. If you are bigger than that it will probably be too tight on you. IF YOU PLAN TO WEAR
