Description of Item: This is a vintage Leica IIIc camera body (S/N 460277) made sometime between 1948 and 1949 . This camera comes with its original Leica leather carrying case. The original owner of this equipment is now deceased but absolutely loved his cameras and took excellent care of them. The camera was checked out completely by a professional camera technician before the demise of the owner and the camera was found to be in fully working condition. T is no reason why this camera will not perform as designed. This is very clean camera -- no spots, mold, or grime. The camera case is very worn. The lens cover of the case has seperated from the body cover and is attached now with black duct tape. This camera and case weigh 1 lb 8 oz before packing materials are added for shipping. Special Note About Shipping Costs: I request winning bidders to wait until I send them an invoice before paying me for the items they have won. The reason why is Ebay requires sellers to provide shipping costs before the items can be listed for auction. Personally this is very difficult for me to do as I sell a lot of one-of-kind items and each has different packing needs. It also is complicated by the fact that many times multiple items are won by the same winning bidder. I estimate shipping size and weight on the high side as t have been many times in the past w I have misestimate package size and weights and found the shipping costs terribly wrong. If you wait until I properly pack your item(s), weigh and measure the package, and accurately estimate your ship cost then I can say t is a 90% chance that the actual ship cost reflected in the invoice will be cheaper than the estimate shown in my auction. I provide the dimensions for the items I sell along with the pre-ship item's weight in my auction description. You can do your own estimate keeping in mind that fragile items usually need double the space required. I do not have any guidelines for estimating the ship weight of packing materials. Those vary by item. International Bidders: For packages that weigh 2 lbs or less t is a USPS rate called First Class International. I do not ship First Class International for the reason that Ebay and PayPal services have not figured out a way to coordinate effectively. A seller can offer the First Class International option in Ebay but cannot choose it as a ship option in PayPal. Tfore when buyers pay for First Class International the seller must manually complete customs paperwork and stand in long lines at the Post Office to process the shipment. For other USPS ship options everything is automated - no paperwork to complete and no lines. I am just too busy to be able to accommodate request for First Class International. Don't bother to ask. I have complained to both Ebay and PayPal but no changes as yet. I also do not mess with customs values. So please do not ask. If you don't want to pay for Priority Mail International and/or the actual customs amount, please do not bid. Refund Policy: Refund on this auction will be accepted only if the camera does not function as designed. The buyer will pay for the cost of return shipment. The refund amount will include the final auction bid amount and original shipping costs that were paid by buyer once it has been confirmed that the items have been returned to the seller in the same condition in which they were sent to the buyer. Terms of Sale: Seller expects payment to be made within three days of auction end date. Once payment is confirmed seller will ship item within 24 hours. I will combine multiple auctions that you have won and save you money on shipping. So if you expect to bid on other items please let me know. Ship insurance is optional but is highly recommended. I will pack the item to prevent damage as best I can BUT if the item is damaged or lost during transit I will not assume responsibility -- you do.
