This neatly scored in pencil program is from August 14th, 1949. The second game of the doubleheader featured a complete game pitching effort from the Giants' Larry Jansen and the Phillies' Russ Meyer. The Giants defeated the Phillies, 1-0. Larry Jansen allowed two harmless singles to Dave Sisler in the second inning and Stan Lopata in the third inning. No Phillies batter reached base after the third inning, as Jansen didn't issue a walk either. The hard-luck Phillies' loser, Meyer nearly matched his opponent, allowing only four singles and two walks. The game's only run scored on a groundout to second base by Willard Marshall after Whitey Lockman advanced to third on a single by Johnny Mize in the fourth inning.
