ORTEGA on the title page in blue ink.This Classic of Western Cowboy Americana by Luis Ortega is considered among the most authentic guide books written on the Traditional Colonial California Vaquero & Buckaroo Method of Horsemanship. Scarce Signed.Hardbound in original Publisher's brown leatherette cloth with embossed printing on the spine and Western vignette on the front cover, 8.5" x 5.5", photographic endpapers, 169 pages plus glossary at the rear, illustrated throughout with 221 b&w photographs plus a few drawing in-text. VERY GOOD CONDITION: The covers have some edge bumps, wear to the cloth at the spine ends/corner-tips, and the embossed printing is rubbed/faded but remains legible. The front edge of the closed book has a few tiny spots. Internally, the pages are age-toned at the margins; the binding is lightly cracked in a few places but remains tightly bound, overall the inner pages are supple, tight, bright, clean and unmarked.
