FINAL EDITION

Extremely unique and one of a kind, final edition copies of the Detroit Free Press Daily Newspaper. This hard copy edition was bound in canvas by the Detroit Free Press Newspaper Office as a historical and archive copy. This periodical is mostly complete, and contains the dailies for the month of October 1949.

This oversized book is very large and measures 17" x 24" in size. It is approx. 3" inches thick, and weighs about 24 pounds. The book is bound in a full page format, as you can see in the photographs. It is in very good condition with few articles removed, and some loose pages.

The newspaper print is crisp and clear, with normal aging to the paper. The canvas cover is in fair condition. This book was stored in a cool dry place for many years, and the interior pages are exactly the way the newspapers would have looked on the newsstand, 59 years ago.

This periodical is museum worthy and could also be used as a great educational tool in the classroom. Filled with interesting articles, advertising, fashion, comics, and 100's of great photographs. Highly collectable, this book will only appreciate with time. What a great way to honor a senior with a newspaper book filled with the most interesting national and local articles of the year they were born.

Several years ago, we acquired a large collection of these Detroit Free Press Periodicals from a private individual in the Detroit area, and have decided to auction them off on Ebay. If you are looking for a particular month or year, please let us know, we may have it. Most of the periodicals we have are from the 40's, 50's and 60's. We believe these are the only monthly final edition newspaper books the Detroit Free Press office bound.

Because this is a very heavy oversized item, we recommend either USPS media mail, or D.H. L. delivery if it is available in your area. We will also allow local pick-up if you are in the area.
