BRAND NEW AND OUT OF PRODUCTION AT FRANKLIN MINT This is the car that virtually saved Ford Motor Company. Henry Ford II was sent home in 1945 to take over the floundering company. He needed to develop a new car that would re-build the Ford fortune. The ’49 was introduced in June 1948 and almost immediately received nearly 100,000 orders. T wasn’t as much hoopla again until the introduction of the Mustang in 1964. Franklin Mint designed and built the first Bimini Blue model ’49 Convertible in 1998, five years after their 1949 Ford Woody Wagon. As a result, it is much more refined and detailed. It proved to be such a beautiful model that it was chosen to be the 1998 Pebble Beach Edition and was repainted Seamist Green. This Limited Edition car is the 3 rd version and arguably the nicest and was limited to only 2500 pieces . Painted a beautiful Meadow Green, it has a contrasting camel interior with tan piping. The interior is much more realistic than the 2-tone colors of the earlier versions. T is also a removable convertible top up and a boot for top down display, both matching the contrasting tan interior piping. Other features on this Ford are a fully operating suspension and seats that fold. This is an important car in the automotive history and one that all collectors should own. This car is BRAND NEW . The box has never been opened . It comes with the Hang Tag and is packed in the Styrofoam Liner, Graphics Box and Outer Shipping Box. All the paperwork is included, exactly as it came from Franklin Mint . A GREAT CAR at an even GREATER PRICE ! As always, I will be glad to combine shipping with multiple purchases.
