This antique fan is in wonderful shape. I do not believe it has ever had any work done on it; certainly I have had none done, and I have had it for over 15 years! All parts appear to be original. It works great.....and is pretty quiet! The base is bakelite. T are no chips from the base, and very few scratches. The paint on the rest of the fan is also quite good, including on the blades. T are no breaks in the housing of the fan blades....front, sides, or back. This fan was made by Fresh'nd Aire in 1949. I saw an old ad from that era that priced it new at $22.50! This is a Model 90, which has 2 speeds. Both speeds work fine. The fan case angles and tilts to provide directional control of the air. The tilting works just fine. T are no dents in the metal framing around the fan blades. The bottom plate is sort of a masonite material. The words are imprinted on it: "FRESH'ND AIRE , REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. , MODEL 90 - TWO SPEED CIRCULATOR , PATENTS APPLIED FOR , 115 VOLTS A.C. 60 CYCLES 50 WATTS , USE S.A.E. 20 OIL EVERY 3 MONTHS , FRESH'ND AIRE COMPANY , DIV. OF CORY CORP. , CHICAGO 23. ILL. , MADE IN U.S.A." T is a larger D stamped in black on the piece as well. The fan measures 7" by 17 1/2" at the base. The base does have a curvatre outward in the front and back to create a more streamlined and stable base. The cord is even in good shape, read more
