1949 GE Model 212 Tabletop Tube AM/FM Radio
(click on any image to see larger version) General Electric model 212 tube radio from 1949. Monaural AM/FM tuner, with two sets of coaxial knobs for power/volume/tone and tuning/band. Large radial tuning dial in black with gold numerals, gold bezel, and translucent red marker. Illuminated FM/AM tuning indicators. Tabletop asymmetric design in solid wood with curved piece of beige tenite trim that wraps around the right side. Woven fabric grill covers 5" single speaker. Measures 15" wide by 9" tall by 7" deep. Weighs 7.5 lb. The radio is in excellent condition. Cabinet has some small scratches but looks beautiful, with no corner damage. General Electric decal and GE emblem are intact. All internal parts are in good working order, including all tubes, tuning circuitry, dial lamp and loudspeaker. Draws in signals strongly even without antenna!
