Land Rover 80" - Chassis No: 0610031* First registered to Derbyshire Fire Service with original, non-transferable registration number. Newish tyres, hood and rear bench seats. Photos and more details to be added on Wednesday. MOT booked for Thursday and it will be MOT'd and Taxed before the listing ends. Viewing welcomed over the Easter weekend. Cash on collection please. This Land Rover 80 is recorded as being built to order for the Derbyshire Fire Brigade in August 1949 so the chassis and body were sprayed red during production in the factory. The chassis and virtually all of the panels still show signs of the original red paint particularly the battery tray shown in one of the pictures. It was later sprayed light green and then five years ago dark bronze green to most of the body, windscreen frame, hoops, bumper, cappings and door tops… but not the inside of the tub or under the door handle flaps. The bumper and offside front wing have two offset holes which is where the additional lights were mounted. The front panel was modified twice on this one, in line with other Brigade Land Rovers. The first modification was a pair of extended mounting plates for Butler headlights which were shallower than Lucas ones and these mountings are still fitted. The second modification read more
