This is the June 25, 1949 issue of Television Guide magazine. It is the New York City edition, which was the precursor to the national TV Guide magazine. The cover features "Olsen and Johnson" Condition is excellent.This is what collectors call a " Pre-Nationa l" issue of TV Guide. That is, it was just a local publication from 1948 to early 1953 when the magazine went national. All of my pre-national issues are from the NYC metro, which are fairly hard to find, especially the earliest years of 1948-1950. I have many old issues to list in the coming months, including some from those very early years---even 1948, which are about as rare a TV Guide as you can hope to find. Their original circulation that first year was very low and practically nobody saved them. I know the word "rare" is thrown around a lot on Ebay, but these super early issues truly are rare. I see maybe one 1948 issue every 3 or so years on here, if that. I also have a tremendous amount of national issues, so keep an eye out for my upcoming national and pre-national TV Guide auctions!
