In super condition is this Miracle Maid Coffee Urn from 1950 made by the Advance Aluminum Castings Corporation, Chicago , IL . The Coffee Urn is made of solid cast aluminum and has a black bakelite Art Deco stepped-knob, handle and comes with its original hard-to-find all black bakelite circular table rest. It has a bail-handled lift-out tall basket which is perforated in the bottom. To use: Boil your water in a teakettle and pour the hot water over the fresh pre-measured coffee that you have placed in the interior sleeve (basket) of the coffee urn. In three minutes, lift the bail handle on the sleeve and click the notch on the side of the sleeve into the clip at the top of the handle. Leave the sleeve in that position until you are satisfied that the grounds are now dry enough to remove. Makes 8 to 10 cups of "cowboy style" hot coffee - not boiled - ready to go! The Coffee Urn itself measures 10" high with a 4-3/4" diameter. The Black Bakelite ring measures 5-1/2" in diameter. The overall weight is 2-3/4 lbs. It is marked on the bottom "Miracle Maid Cookware" along with a U.S. Patent No. of 2,527,227 which dates to 1950. I have cleaned and polished this Coffee Urn completely with appropriate materials and it really shines and looks great! The Black Bakelite really shines. T are some surface scratches to the exterior of the Urn
