Vintage Allegheny County PA Police Department Criminal Mugshot
Great addition to any Crime Photograph Collection!
I am pleased to offer this historic convict mug shot photo from the Allegheny County Detective Bureau police department. This card features a strange older female woman who was arrested on August 5, 1950. Her crime is listed as ABORTION. Her occupation is listed as a SEAMSTRESS for anyone interested in occupational material. Her hair is quite messy and she is wearing jewelry. (At least earrings ).The back also states some personal information such as her name, Julia Trombetta. She is Italian as her nativity is listed as Italy. Her address is listed as 1012 Indiana Ave. Glassport, PA. Her prison number is listed as 6721. T is nothing written under MARKS, SCARS, OR DEFORMITIES. T is also a FPC numbers typed out on the back, not sure if they are some sort of bertillon measurements. The camera took a very detailed picture with nice contrast.
As for the arrest of abortion, I am unclear as to whether it was the equivalent to murder or manslaughter or if the girl mother died. Not sure if she went to the penitentiary, just remained in the county jail or ended up in an insane state hospital. Safe to say that someone with a badge put her in handcuffs and she did some time. With a little more research quite a bit of provenance and history would be added to this weird work of art. Would make an excellent addition to any law enforcement, correctional history or women's civil rights or suffrage. This rare artifact may lend some aid to the Pro-Choice or Pro-Life debate. ONE OF A KIND!
This odd booking photo is guaranteed original and measures about 5" x 6". This will be shipping from Ohio.
