(fea2177) This Lion 21-Feature match book is from Baby Diaper Service (no city/state given). The saddle reads: Phone 3-9881. The sticks (last image) show a stork and a baby.

[From the AMCC WebSite: 21-Feature --A Lion Match Co. trademark for a match book containing wide match sticks that were printed with lettering, designs or a combination of both (not to be confused with printed sticks). The standard 30-stick size match book held 21 wide stick feature match sticks in three rows of seven. The 20-stick size match book held 15 wide match sticks and was known as the Feature. Introduced September 1930. They are no longer made. ]

This Lion Feature Match Co. match book is NEAR MINT & UNSTRUCK with all the matches retained. T is some very minor handling present, but nothing serious. You are viewing both sides and the inside/sticks of the ONE Lion 21-Feature match book in this sale. Difficult to date exactly, but it is probably from the 1950s. (Note: On the image showing the sticks, the match book was held down by a piece of glass, tfore you see two edges on either side of the stick. They are not part of the match book.)

Through the years, the tradition in the hobby has been to collect mostly matchcovers rather than full match books. This was probably due to their ease of storing, mailing and display. When a full match book survives the test of time, it is listed as a full match book with the matches retained. We sell what we describe. It is your responsibility to read our listings and ask questions if necessary.
