offered is a fabulous early 1950's american made streamline deco windproof imco solo de-luxe automatic cigar lighter-mint in box with instructions. the chrome plated side press solo de-luxe features a wonderful rich red lacquer "drink coca-cola" advertisement on each side. the solo de-luxe model with an unusual built up windscreen was first designed in 1950 by julius kohn of new york. kohn is also credited with inventing the colby automatic lighter along with abner kohlberg. solo deluxe lighters were mostly used for promotional advertisers and this coke version is the most valuable. the design patent below shows a bathing beauty model which were also retailed in the early 1950's. the lighter measures 2-1/8" tall and is in unused condition with original box and instructions. this model is one of the rarest coke lighters known and missing from almost every coke collection. i doubt another mint in box example exists. overall - an important vintage soda advertising coca cola enamel petrol pocket lighter for the best of collections. insurance included in usa ship quote. overseas shipping includes registered first class international.
