Up for auction is a vintage (I believe 1950's) Marx Prince Valiant Playset in it's original box along with an additional home-crafted wooden set-up board, as shown. This item came from an estate of an elderly massive toy collector from Northern Illinois. The "Castle Fort" box measures 9 1/2" by 27" and is 4" deep. The box is in real nice shape, light edge wear but no seperations and no repairs. You will notice a small piece of masking tape on the very front edge - middle - which was used to tape the box shut at one time. No other flaws to box. Original (appears) cardboard compartment insert on the inside. The playset was acquired already set-up on a wooden set-up type board that was built specifically by the former collector for this playeset. The bottom surface board is a hard pressed wood material in which he fastened small blocks of precisely cut wood to the four different corners so that the metal walls and and corner pillars fit snuggly over the wooden cut blocks. This hand built set-up floor sure does tighten up the whole assembly completely around and there is no problem carrying or moving the entire unit. Just really tighten's things up. The wood set up floor measures 18" by 23 1/2". All the metal castle pieces are in excellent condition, no missing tabs, no dents. Only one of the smaller wall pieces has some rust (pictured) read more
