For your consideration is this REX MARS SPACE TARGET GAME produced by Marx in the 1950's. The target measures 13.5 inches long. The plastic rifle measures 12 inches long. The targets framing is made out of lithographed tinplate and the robot and alien targets are plastic. The framing's tin litho is very detailed and colorful. It is signed with the Marx logo on the lower left corner. The 5 figures spin on the metal rod that they attached to. The frame has the words "OFFICIAL REX MARS PLANET PATROL" stamped on the lower right corner. It superb litho has space guns, futuristic cities, launching and flying rocket ships and various numbers (points) on it. The targets themselves are an eclectic collection of robots and aliens. You have a gold robot that resembles Gort, a magenta alien with a cape and pointed ears, a brown robot that has a trash can looking mid section, a light green web fingered and web footed alien, and finally a cobalt blue robot holding a space dagger. The toy rifle is bright yellow and also has the Marx trademark on it. When the chamber on the toy gun is pulled back it locks into place, when the trigger is pulled it "fires". Both the target and toy rifle are in C9 condition with no breaks, chips or cracks. This vintage Space Toy collectible is being sold in true auction form, with a low opening bid and no hidden reserve! read more
