DETAILS OF PRODUCTYou are bidding on a highly desirable 100% authentic Mickey Mantle 1.75" PM10 baseball player pinback from the early 50's. The pin displays beautifully showing off just the right amount of age to help bring it to life. Not much rust at all on the back with very minor flaws on the front. The condition of this pin is EX 6.5/10. This pin retails for $150 in the standard catalog of Vintage Baseball Cards due to it's scarcity.HISTORY OF PRODUCT1.75" player pins were often the best selling items of street vendors outside a stadium. Fans wearing these pins could show support for their favorite player. These pins are not dated.Their year of issue can often only be approximated. However, when a series of pins was made for several players on a team, the year of issue can often be reduced to one or two years. Given the rapid turnover of players on a team, a particular group of players may have been together only briefly. What is fascinating about these pins is that they were made for both stars and obscure players alike. It did not take a pin maker long to produce a pin of a player. A given player may get a big hit or pitch well to win a game.
