USED Official Scout Radio Kit from the 1950s. By assembling the radio from the parts in this kit, a Scout could qualify toward his Radio Merit Badge. This radio uses two type 3V4 tubes in a regenerative circuit and is capable of loudspeaker reception on local AM radio stations. The set uses two 1.5-Volt batteries and one 90-Volt battery (batteries not included). The original 12-1/4” by 7-1/4” by 7” box serves as a cabinet for the radio and has pre-punched holes for the speaker, tuning control and on/off switch. It has some wear and water marks but is very serviceable as is. The original paper tuning dial has been lost but a copy from another radio is supplied. As far as I can tell, all the original parts are there. They are in good condition except for rust on the battery holders, switch bracket, and some of the screws. Also, the speaker cone has some damage but has been repaired and works fine. The Original Instruction Sheets, Schematic Diagram and Board Layout Sheet are included. Caution: I noticed that the tube-pin callouts on the schematic diagram are wrong. Consult a tube manual for the correct callouts. The Scout who tried to get this radio to work with these errors must have been very frustrated.
