These true vintage 1950's era chalkware (plaster) figures are in excellent original condition with NO cracks, missing pieces or repairs (see pics.). Extraordinary given the somewhat delicate material they are made from and the age of these pieces. These are rather large and heavy pieces measuring approx. 14" in height depicting a native musician playing a 4 string instrument (resembling a ukulele but held differently) and a beautiful native girl adorned with a shell necklace with flowers in her hair. Made by the Alexander Backer Company (ABCO) known throughout the 1940's-50's for their decorative chalkware figurines and wall plaques, these two large figures are prime examples of the fine craftsmanship and attention to detail that this company was known for. A very rare and hard to find pair of vintage chalkware Polynesian-Hawaiian figures in unbelievable original condition that would surely make a grand addition to any Pacific Islands collector!! Please e-mail me before bidding if t are any questions or additional info needed. Thanks for looking and "Good Luck" ! ***PLEASE NOTE*** Only EXACT cost of shipping fees will be charged based on the destination, size and weight of package and type of postal service used. Figures alone weigh approx. 16lbs. Insurance will be required. NEVER any additional handling or packing fees.
