1950s SEGUSO MURANO ART GLASS SOMMERSO BIRDS GOLD PERCH
This NO RESERVE auction is for a MID CENTURY PAIR OF LOVE BIRDS PEARCHED HIGH ON A GOLD AVENTURINE CASED BRANCH that was created by either ARCHIMEDE SEGUSO or ALFREDO BARBINI in the mid 1950s. Condition is MINT, no damage or repairs, very fine, both beaks and all fine features are original and in perfect condition. The transition in color inside the birds is beautiful and turns from a rich emerald green to an icy blue. No labels or signatures. It measures 11.25" tall, the branck is 4" wide as is the round scalloped base. It weighs 2.5 pounds. The interior of the branch and scalloped base are nothing but gold aventurine cased in a heavy layer of crystal that sparkles like crazy in bright light as seen in the photos.
