is an authentic 1950's vintage three slot payphone as removed from service in a southern Illinois railroad station in the late 1960's when it was replaced by a more modern single slot variety. My grandfather had worked for the phone company in those days and I had recieved it from him a few years ago. automatic electric company Northlake ILL USA is engraved on the front.this phone is unrestored and is pretty much what it looked like in the 1950s when it was removed from service.this phone works good and has even been wired with a modular plug and will easily connect to any ordinary home telephone line,no special equipment or service is required.nice loud and clear voice quality.works with or without coins, and has a nice brass bell ringer.nice, solid construction. even comes with original keys.this phone was designed and built in america to last 75 years or longer.this is not a cheap plastic reproduction variety that flood the market.this is the real thing! this would definately make a nice addition to your game room or your 50s style kitchen.the top sign shown in pic will need to be reattached with the 4 bolts that will be included.
