1950's vintage Margot de Taxco Modern Dots Silver and Enamel Pin Dimensions - 2 1/8" x 1 3/4"; 30.7 grams Marks - Margot de Taxco; 5586 (item design number); Made in Mexico Sterling;16 eagle mark Condition - wear commensurate with age; silver has a nice patina; the pin is in good working order; there is some small damage to the enamel on the lower left corner Reference - "William Spratling and the Mexican Rennaissance" p.81; matching necklace illustrated in "Margot Van Voorhies" by Penny Morrill , p. 127 This is one of Margot's iconic enamel designs from the 1950's. The simple black with the graduating silver dots translated well to many of the pieces she designed in this pattern. This is a great eye catching pin. It's not collector quality, and I've priced it accordingly. But it's still a great piece to wear and enjoy. I've also listed the matching bracelet and earrings. If you're interested in more Mexican silver, please see our other listings, or at our website . Thanks!
