This is a solid bronze advertising medallion paperweight from the famous FRUIT OF THE LOOM clothing company.
Overall, it measures almost 3" in diameter and is quite thick and heavy.
The rim has some nice workmanship and the piece was done by the famous artist JULIO KILENYI.
It was made in 1951 to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the company.

NOTE: At some point within the next year (hopefully before the end of 2008!) I will get around to running many, perhaps hundreds, of concurrent auctions focusing on specific areas. For instance, I expect to run several dozen concurrent auctions of presidential / political medals / commemoratives. I will try this out at some point, but it does require some organization on my part. Some of the other categories/groups that I will run many concurrent auctions for include: Judaica , New York City historical items, clocks & watches , advertising collectibles. So one day you'll do a search on ebay and you'll find many, many auctions of similiar items, all listed by "seth" ! ALSO, coming up on or about September 30th, in celebration of my 10 year anniversary on eBay , I shall have many many really nice items for sale, mostly at no reserve and opening bids under $1. (Truth be told, I'll be "giving it away" :)
