This is the 1951 Kaiser Henry J in 1/25 scale. This beautiful one of a kind model car was crafted from a '51 Henry J Gasser Revell kit. No resin parts were used in making this exceptional model car. The body and dashboard have been painted in a color that is almost a match to Pasadena Yellow and the interior was painted in leather brown and tan with exact matching tan plush carpeting. The body of this model has been clear coated, wet sanded, compounded, polished, and waxed to a brilliant mirror-like finish. With the exceptions of the rear view mirror and the license plate light, all of the chrome on this model is highly polished and precision trimmed chrome foil. Below is a list of the modifications that were done to create this model car;1. The front bumper, bumper guards , and the sheet metal behin d the bumper are all made from scratch.2. The sheet metal behind and below the grille was made from scratch.3. The original grille has had clear parking light/turn signal lenses added to it.4. The original headlights supplied with the Revell kit were not very detailed and have been replaced.5. The hood ornament is made entirely from scratch.6. The entire front end of this kit was a multi-piece assembly that was meant to be a flip-open front end. All of that has been assembled into a single unit and permanently attached to the rest of the body.7. The styling lines around the front wheel wells have been re-sculptured.8. The hood originally had a large opening for a blower. The hole has been filled in (with solid plastic) and blended in perfectly with the rest of the hood.9. A chrome steel antenna with base has been installed on the passenger side from fender.10. Scratch made rain gutters have been added to both sides of the roof.11. The rear side windows have been altered to give shape for the black weatherstripping.12. The rear wheel wells were originally a rounded cut out style to be able to accommodate large racing slicks. New wheel well shapes and styling lines have been made from scratch (from solid plastic),13. Seam lines have been hand sculptured into the body running from the bottom of the rear side windows all the way back to the bottom of the rear of the car.14. A made from scratch replica of a 1951 Virginia license plate has been added to the rear deck of the car.15, A license plate light post has been added just below the license plate.16 A gas cap has been added to the passenger side rear fender.17. The rear bumper , bumper guards, and the sheet metal behind the bumper are made from scratch.18. The chassis was made using a combination of the original floor and a chassis from a 1/32 scale 1955 Chevy. The Chevy chassis has been highly modified by making alterations to the floor boards and the addition of a complete made from scratch exhaust system. The fuel tank and spare tire pocket were cut away and turned 180 degrees to match the Kaiser chassis.19. The tires and rims are from an early 1960's compact promo car.20. The hub caps were originally from an old 1960's Corvair, modified to look like the Henry J style.21. The entire dashboard has been heavily modified. The original dash had a glove box on it, which was not included with the 1951 Henry J's and has been deleted. The correct number of control and heater/vent knobs have been added all across and below the dashboard, including one on top of the dashboard for the wipers. Additional details (the emergency brake handle, a radio, and an early style heating unit) were all made from scratch and added under the dash. 22. The steering wheel was made from scratch and has the Kaiser emblem in the center. A shifter lever and an optional turn signal unit were added too. The brace that holds the ste ering wheel to the dash board was made from scratch. It is the earliest version of this car as it does not have the covering over the brace. 23. Under the dashboard, a gas pedal, a brake pedal, a clutch pedal, and a high beam dimmer switch have been added.24. The original ... read more
