Here is an Official Program for the National Roller Derby . 1951 . Great color cover by Lon Keller. This is a generic program. No specific teams. This opens with a open letter from Billy Bogash. A story on Roller Derby’s past greats. Shirley Burgess, Katie King, Wes Aronson, and Peggy O’Neill ( with George Raft). There are some action photos, rules, signals, scoring, Gerry Murrar presenting skates to Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s son. Also some skate and roller derby related ads. Back cover Chesterfield ad with Jan Sterling. 7 ¾" x 10 ½" and 16 pages. Some light soiling. NOTE* Henry Alonzo Keller (1907–1995), known as Lon Keller, was an American artist who specialized in sports art. Keller created the top-hat logo for the New York Yankees in 1947,and was a program cover artist for most colleges and universities, numerous high schools, the NFL, the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, the Harlem Globetrotters, the Army, Navy and Air Force academies, and more.
