ORIGINAL FIRST DRAFT SCREENPLAY / SCRIPT of the FILM Starring BURT LANCASTER. This “First Draft” screenplay is dated May, 2, 1952, two years before the film was completed and released in 1954. This first draft screenplay credits Frank S. Nugent and Lawrence Stallings as the writers of the screenplay. Neither was credited in the final, finished film. Green paper covers with “HIS MAJESTY O’KEEFE” typed and “DRAFT” stamped on the front cover. Mimeographed inner pages, mimeographed on green 8.5” x 11” sheets on one side only, pages are 3 hole punched at the left margin. Screenplay is bound with 2 brass brads. The Script is in VERY GOOD condition, the covers are worn, with creases and closed tears, where they overhang the inner pages; the first and last page have a bit of light foxing, otherwise tight, bright, clean and unmarked.
