BLACK CAT MYSTERY #34 Vol 1 June 1953, Featuring artwork by comics art legends SPARLING and POWELL. Golden age Harvey comics were renowned for their gruesome interior artwork, and this issue has become infamous for shocking panels including one depicting EYES, EARS, TONGUE CUT OUT. Approx Grade = GD - /FR + Description: Comic displays well, but has a number of defects such as tape repair at the spine and interior cover edges, chipping at the cover edges, the cover is completely detached, comic has slight water damage at the bottom edge, but everything is still intact, with nothing missing. The interior shows aging and the minor staining from the ancient water damage does not extend far up enough on the book to affect the artwork badly. This copy shows a lot of age but is entirely readable. Both cover and interior still have really good colors. A sound investment, as Horror comics from the 1950s are scarce in most all grades.
