For auction is lot of 6 photos taken at the site of the 1953 emergency landing of KLM "De Vliegende Hollander" PH-TOL near the Dhahran airport in Saudi Arabia. The DC-4 was headed for Iraq. The plane was unable to land due to issues with visibility. The pilot decided to divert to Dhahran, but the aircraft ran out of fuel and made a forced landing in the desert. The plane was loaded onto a flatbed truck and repaired. A few of these photos have been posted on the internet with the details of this emergency landing. The smaller snapshots I believe were taken by one of the passengers. 3 of the photos are 8 x 10. 3 are 4 5/8 x 3 1/2. T is no writing on any of them. The photos show the damage to the propellors and landing gear. Please email if you need additional information.
