PLEASE ALL OF THE OTHER BEAUTIFUL, NEW, OR FULLY RESTORED AND RECONDITIONED HIGH GRADE COLLECTIBLE PIPES THAT I HAVE LISTED FOR AUCTION THIS WEEK ON EBAY!
You are bidding on what is considered, perhaps, one of the most desirably shaped pipes of the most classic and distinguished pipe maker in the world - A Dunhill sandblasted "Shell Briar" ODA 835 F/T (Fish Tail stem lip) straight "Billiard" shape pipe. This previously enjoyed pipe was crafted in London, England, at the Alfred Dunhill pipe factory, in 1953. It is stamped as a PAT. No. 41574/34. It is also stamped with a circle 4 and an "S". In NO WAY is this huge pipe a Group 4! I don't know if that stamping was simply an aberration or not. THIS IS AN ODA sized pipe through and through, and a prime early example of this classic shape! This fifty five year old pipe possesses a beautiful crisp, detailed, and very craggy sandblasting along with a perfect balance and extremely comfortable hand feel. A pipe cleaner will pass to the bottom of the bowl. T are good reasons why this one is a time tested classic!
I have lightly but thoroughly and carefully cleaned, sanitized, and rejuvenated this outstanding and highly desirable pipe both inside and out. The original hand cut vulcanite stem is free from any tooth marks, scratches, or oxidation. The stem shines like glass. The bowl stampings can be easily read. They are both crisp and defined. The entire pipe is extremely crisp and clean. This extremely collectible "like new" condition pipe is truly ready to immediately enjoy right out of the box!
To find a Dunhill Shell Briar ODA 835 patent pipe in any condition is near impossible.
To find one of these rare and desirable ODA 835 pipes in a better condition than this very example, it would have to be brand new!
This pipe is of museum caliber, other than that tiny tooth mark, and could qualify for a "Best of Show" award. It is that crisp and clean!
are the dimensions of this classically proportioned and pristine condition Dunhill Group ODA size grade pipe: The overall length is 6.55". The bowl height is about 2.125". The tobacco chamber is about 0.90" in diameter and tapers down the bowl's 1.80" inner depth. It weighs 58 grams. The black leather pipe bag pictured below is included.
I am running this as a âeoePrivate Auctionâe so that you can bid on this pipe without worrying about stepping over your fellow pipe collector friendâe(tm)s bid, as well as keeping the winning bidderâe(tm)s name private. A pipe like this deserves some discretion. I know that t will be some serious interest in this pipe! I will send an e-mail to the winning bidder, showing all of the bidding action at the close of this auction. I want you to bid with the highest of confidence and know that the winning bidder will get to see the list of the other bidders.
Once again, this is a TEN day no reserve pipe auction. I do not believe in "Reserve" or "Buy it Now" prices. I want the lucky high bidder to own and enjoy this pipe and not have him frustrate himself with bidding on a pipe that is not attainable on a price basis! Just be the high bidder at the close of this auction, and you will win what could again prove to be the best pipe in your collection!
Please read and review my eBay ratings and comments. Check out the " ME " section after my eBay name "coopersark". I think that you will find this information very informative and telling! Please feel free to send me an e-mail with any questions that you may have about this pipe. I want you to bid with the highest of confidence!
I use only the best of packaging materials. The pipes that I ship have too much time and labor lavished on their restoration and presentations as well as the many of these pipes are irreplaceable works of art. I am not going to risk damage by using lesser packing. (In my nine years of selling pipes on eBay and shipping thousands of pipes around the world, not a single pipe has been dam...
