1953 SMALL SIZE $5 NOTE

This note has the portrait of ABRAHAM LINCOLN and the reverse has the Lincoln Memorial. It is the 1953 $5.00 SMALL SILVER CERTIFICATE , in UNCIRCULATED condition in my opinion, but you can judge for yourself to make the final decision with the photos above, which you can enlarge . It has the signature combination of PRIEST/HUMPHREY . It was issued in the series from 1953, just after the end of the large size notes

This is a nice note, has all 4 full corners. It has excellent color contrast no writing, holes, or tears. There are no visible folds, creases and wrinkles or soiling. The edges are sharp and smooth. T his is a really good, and attractive example of old paper money which are often pretty worn out when they are found. The BLUE Seal is Small, on the RIGHT side and is striking.

Book value per Friedberg 2008 is $12.00 in VF20 condition, $35 in UNC63 , other unline auctions paid $34 in Jan. 2011 for an uncirculated note so place a bid and enjoy a bargain. Some retailers and Shop at Home TV charge much more that book value for this note when they can find it. This note does not come up for auction very often and in uncirculated condition! So if you need it to add something special to your legal tender collection this may be your only opportunity, don't let it slip by.
