STUDEBAKER INSIDE FACTS BOOK FOR 1953 This auction consists of a CD containing 110 pages taken from the 1953 Studebaker Inside Facts book. Each page of the original document was scanned at high resolution and then cleaned up in a photo-editing program to assure that each of the 198 images in the book are sharp, clear and undamaged. All text, specifications,and illustrations are just as originally done in 1953. The CD will be shipped in a jewel case with appropriate graphics on both sides of the plastic case showing the cover of the original book and giving a brief history of these rare volumes (see image #2 below). Shipment will be First Class mail in a special mailer. The book is divided into eleven sections: Beauty, Comfort, Performance, Economy, Safety, Dependability, Transmissions, Power Steering, Accessories, Specifications and Index. T is also a section on trucks. As one may imagine t is a considerable amount of pertinent data to be found in 106 pages! THE 1953 STUDEBAKER INSIDE FACTS BOOK - A BRIEF HISTORY Studebaker's revolutionary new 1953 models were styled by Robert E. Bourke working in South Bend, Indiana for Raymond Loewy Associates. While the new bodies on the coupe and hardtops were initially well received production problems delayed their introduction until January 1953, well into the model run. As a result of these problems the publications department was unable to get the necessary photographs for their 1953 version of the Inside Facts salesman's book. Because of this it was decided by top management to suspend the printing and none were ever released to the dealers. Fewer than half a dozen original proof copies were made. The version presented in this CD is taken from one of those copies and it is complete with all the final editorial changes including all sixteen color pages (see images below). This CD is intended for the use and enjoyment of collectors and enthusiasts and is not to be reproduced by electronic or print means. Buyer to pay $2.50 postage.
