Up for auction is this vintage original 1954 Prestone Aniti Freeze gas station 36" wall thermometer. The thermometer is made of heavy steel and porcelain and is in good condition for its age,but does have some rust on the top and some rust through on the bottom edge from years of hanging outside.Neither of these issues are not too evident when it is hanging on the wall.It retains at least 90% of the original porcelain with bright colors on the top and bottom portions, but does have a little fading just below the blue area around the 110 degree mark, you can see this in the pictures. The thermometer has mercury in it and is working, with the temperature about 40 degrees I had it outside before taking the pictures and thats what it read;I brought it in and it went back to 69 degrees. It measures 9" wide and all most 36" long. The date 54 is just below the 120 degree mark and can be seen in a few of the pictures.Check out the pictures. This would look great with your gas station or oil related collectables,or hang it just to use as a great looking thermometer. The pictures do this no justice,it looks way better in person. Thanks!!
