I know nothing about military items but I think this is a very interesting piece of history for your military collectors. It is a US Navy parachute with the following information marked on it: Manufactured by Naval Aircraft Factory, Navy Yard, Philadelphia Pennsylvania. US Navy Parachute 486820, Type Q.F. Chest, Final Striking Date Oct 54. I don't know if that means it was made in 1954 or possibly earlier for the Korean conflict or maybe even World War II. It is tied in the middle so it is hard to get a decent photo. Email me with questions. US Navy emblems are stamped in many places with the number 486820 along the bottom edge in places. The cords have been cut off the bottom. I believe the fabric is silk. Certainly a unique item to add to your historical military collections. Offered at no reserve.
