275. [Disneyana]. Vintage circa 1955, 4-3/4 x 9 inch, tri-fold Carnation Ice Cream Parlor Menu / Postcard from Disneyland, Anaheim, California. Color pictorial front panel with a postcard style back panel and 2 cents stamp box. Also included is an unopened toothpick wrapper from "Nixons", which was enclosed inside the menu. It was this toothpick which caused the brown oxidation marks seen in the pictures. Two panels feature the Menu for the Ice Cream Parlor: Cheeseburger @ 55 cents, Hamburger @ 35 cents; Sodas @ 10 cents (Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, Sasparilla, Cherry or Lemon Phosphate, or Root Beer); Sundaes and Parfaits @ 35 to 45 cents; etc. There are many other itemized selections included in "Features from Frontierland; Surprises from Tomorrowland; Suggestions from Main Street; Treats from Fantasyland; and Imports from Adventureland." There is a one panel history of the Carnation Farm and Carnation Ice Creram Parlor in Disneyland. Another panel features information on Disneyland which officially opened on July 18, 1955 and Walt Disney's vision for Disneyland. Stated in the last paragraph: "According to Walt Disney, his 'magic kingdom' will never be finished. In 1956 he plans to add 'International Street' and to open 'Holiday Land.'
