This is a 1955 Leedy snare drum. Broadway model. The drum has been played regularly since 1980. This is a working drum. So...here are the details as best as I can describe: Leedy Slingerland 1955-- 5” x 14” The good: 1). Beautiful drum. In great shape. No extra holes. 2). All original hardware. The nuts inside the drum have been replaced. 3). Original lugs and snare catch. 4). The shell is a ONE PIECE maple shell. Great shape. 5). The rims are brass..covered in chrome. 6). Inside dampening mechanism is pristine. 7). All lug screws are original. 8). Badge is perfect and in good shape. The bad: 1). The rims are slightly bent on the bottom ring. (common) 2). The snare mechanism is slightly bent. About 1 mm. Very fixable. 3). The shell has been re-wrapped (not by me). It looks ok...but it was not professionally done. 4). The inside of the drum was painted with a light coating of latex white. It looks nice. but I wouldn't have done that. 5). Light pitting. Nothing out of the ordinary. So...this is a light fix up project. The drum can be played immediately with a snare attachment. I decided not to go thru with the refurb. I brought this to my local drum historian. He offered me $300 on the spot. It's a good looking drum. I simply don't want to make the time. Please reach out with any questions.
