1955 Madame Alexander 8" ALEX Pink Bridesmaid All Orig. Gorgeous, rare vintage 1955 Alexander-kins 8” Wendy’s Bridesmaid, shown in Linda Crowsey’s Collector’s Encyclopedia of Madame Alexander Dolls 1948-1965 (Collector Books, 2006), page 25. She is all original with her pink nylon tulle dress with flower cap and flower trim on the dress. She has ALEX on her back and her dress is tagged (see photo). She is a straight leg walker. Her face paint is gorgeous, without any rubs and bright cheeks and lips, well defined eyebrows and eyelashes (lower) and full eyelashes. Her clear blue eyes open and close easily. There is a tiny, faint mark on her left cheek that is practically microscopic and I haven’t tried to clean it off for fear of affecting her cheek blush. Her rubber band for her arms had broken with age and I replaced it with one from a more modern Alexanderkins’ rubber band. She has no splits or damage to her body or head. There is another tiny little brownish mark on her lower back that I also haven’t tried to clean off. There are a few tiny marks here and there; one is probably from a metal stand at one time but it is very dim. She smells just fine.
