This is a wonderful old 1956 first edition, first printing from the library of a dear monsignor friend. THE BOOK OF CATHOLIC QUOTATIONS - Compiled from Approved Sources Ancient, Medieval, and Modern , it had the Imprimatur of Francis Cardinal Spellman. Published long before Vatican II, it is a treasure of Catholic wisdom: Matri Intemeratae Sedi Sapientiae . It is an indispensable and unique reference. More than 10,000 quotations are arranged topically and chronologically under 1500 headings. It was the first and only such compendium from exclusively Catholic sources: Fathers and Doctors of the Church, papal pronouncements, Canon Law, the liturgy, etc. It is a huge 1073 pages, and even has its original dust jacket.
